Blackswift – a joint program between AFRL and the U.S. Defense Advanced Research 
Projects Agency (DARPA) that was developing a hypersonic turbojet/scramjet combined-cycle propulsion system used as a reusable, long range strike aircraft.
The Blackswift Aircraft would take off from a runway and accelerate on turbojet power, transition to scramjets, cruise and maneuver at Mach 6 before completing its mission and landing again.
The Blackswift Aircraft program was cancelled by congress in 2007
