Data Management Unit (DMU)

A unit that performs the same data conversion functions as a Flight Data Acquisition Unit (FDAU), with the added capability to process data onboard the aircraft. Additionally, this unit has a powerful data processor designed to perform in-flight airframe/engine and flight performance monitoring and analysis. Some DMUs have ground data link and ground collision avoidance systems incorporated into the unit.
