Purple Plague – Corrosion

Purple Plague Corrosion is a brittle gold-aluminum corrosion product formed when a gold-plated component and an aluminum component are mechanically attached or bonded together. Microelectronic circuit failures can occur at the interconnecting mechanical bond as this gold-aluminum corrosion product grows. FAA AC 43-206
